Animals are everywhere near Pilot Point homes at Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch. This non-profit organization focuses on combining education and fun. Lovers of wildlife will surely become enamoured with this park. A vast variety of critters are quite content to show off their talents. Two colorful Macaws call out greetings next to Capuchin Monkeys who are just hanging around. Emus, donkeys, draft horses and sloths are all represented. Several endangered animals also live on this piece of Pilot Point real estate including a Syrian Brown Bear, Binturongs, a Dumeril’s Boa and four different species of lemurs.

Open public days occur each Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A great way to start off is with the safari tram ride through three pastures of animal habitats. Animal encounters are scheduled throughout the day with expert presenters teaching guests about each creature's interesting features. Youngsters love the petting zoo where they can purchase feed for the animals. There is a miniature pony ride and train barrel ride for the littles to enjoy. Hungry humans can bring in their own lunches to munch on under a covered area or dine at the Bear’s Den Restaurant. Snacks are also available for purchase in the gift shop.
